Dan Wheldon Time is a weird thing. Most if the time 8 years ago feels like a long time ago. 8 years ago I had only lived in Terre Haute for 1 year. I was still making friends and finding my own way. But days like today, 8 years go feels like yesterday. How has it been 8 years? That can’t be right. As others have said, this day never gets any easier. And things have never been the same. Dan brought such a big personality to the series and he left footsteps no one will be able to fill and rightfully so. Dan was truly one of a kind and he will forever be missed.

What's new?

I think it is common knowledge that I do not update this blog very often. But when I do I have a few important things on my mind. For those of you that don't know I moved back home in March of 2018 and took a job as a bank teller at Tri County Bank and Trust. I absolutely love it. However moving back home meant leaving my close friends I had made while living in Terre Haute, it also meant leaving my boyfriend at the time, Dan. He was a very special part of my life and I really did love him and his family, it just wasn't meant to be. Moving home and going through a breakup was a lot to juggle. But I got through it okay. Later in 2018 I was in a play. It was such a great experience and I truly enjoyed it. During that time I became very close with someone who I had known my entire life. I know it sounds crazy but I felt as though God pushed me in the direction to move home because of this person. The more we talked and hung out the more I fell for him. Feelings I had felt for th...

One day

In my 29 years of life I’ve had several dreams, many of them changed and evolved over the years, but there has always been one dream that has stayed constant. And that is to get married and have a family. I’m to the point in my life where most of my friends have it and I’m so happy for them all and I love their children. I so badly want to be a mom that it sometimes physically pains me that dream hasn’t come true yet. I know God has a plan for me and I just so badly want it to be that I will be a mom one day, sooner rather than later.

8 years

Today timehop reminded me that I met someone 8 years ago. The moment I met him I knew he was going to be a part of my life and we became fast friends he was my best friend. Eventually I ended up falling in love with him of course he didn’t feel the same way but it never changed our friendship. I genuinely thought we would be friends forever our friendship was so special. He ended up moving out of state and it sucked but we still talked almost every single day it was great until one day it wasn’t. I was still in love with him and decided I couldn’t keep doing that because it was just killing me. But I got to where I was able to be just friends and we continued staying in touch. Everything was fine until it just wasn’t. I don’t know what happened but it’s been nearly 2 years since I saw him last, he doesn’t respond to me anymore, nothing, at all. I’m not going to lie it kills me almost everyday because he was my best friend even after all the shit, but now I almost wish that I never even...

October 16th

Image
October 16th to most this date is just like any other, just another day. But for others their lives changed forever 6 years ago, including mine. 6 years ago we lost an incredible racer, husband, father, son, brother, and champion. 6 years ago we lost the best friend we will ever know. 6 years ago we lost. We lost Dan Wheldon. Some things will never be the same, sure we still go racing but the paddock will never be the same.. there was a spark in Dan and he just brought such charisma, talent, drive and friendliness  to the paddock that I don’t know if we’ll ever see again. But I do know if we live our lives with just an ounce of how Dan lived his, the world will truly be a better place. This day will always be a reminder that you are no longer here. For 6 years we have all felt that constant void in our hearts, a void that will never be replaced, because you simply can not replace Dan Wheldon. There will never be another like you. Thank you for always watching down on us and prote...

Terry Feltner

Image
The world lost a wonderful man today. Terry Feltner has passed away. Terry meant so much to my family and I. He was one of the most selfless men I knew, he'd do anything for anyone no questions asked. So many childhood memories involve him. From spending the night on Christmas Eve helping my dad put together gifts from Santa to random drop in visits, those were the best.  Bailey and I loved him. You are missed by so many people already. I loved hearing stories of fun times him and my parents had. My favorite is the motorcycle story! Oh I'd laugh every time I heard it. The only thing that's making this easier is knowing he's no longer in pain. We love you man and we miss you so much!

Update

Hey everyone! I'm not sure if anyone ever reads this but I'm sorry I haven't posted in a long while. All I really have is my phone unless I'm on my sisters computer. Both of my laptops have bit the dust and I don't have wifi or internet at my apartment for that matter so blogging has become rather difficult. I really wanted to keep on on this so I apologize. Hopefully in the next year or so I can get a laptop, but I'm not holding my breath I really need to save my money for a vehicle instead, so we'll see how that goes. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well.

Justin Wilson

Image
The IndyCar community has lost another great driver. I didn't know Justin as well as I did Dan Wheldon. However, Justin was a wonderful person. Losing him still affected me and I'm in pain. Everyone in racing, knows the risks and dangers. But we are never ready to face them. It doesn't get any easier, death isn't easy. I know its a part of life but its still hard and it still sucks. Justin was a wonderful person and was taken far to soon. Give our best to DW we'll all be united again. Fly High. A trust fund has been set up for Justin Wilson's two daughters. If you'd like to donate here is the address. Wilson Children's Fund, c/o INDYCAR, 4551 W. 16th St., Indianapolis, IN 46222.

Dan Wheldon 3 Years

Image
How on earth as it been 3 years already?? I still can't believe you're gone. We've all had 3 years to mourn your loss and deal with this unbearable pain. I can't speak for everyone but the pain I felt this day 3 years ago is the exact same pain I feel today, I've just learned to deal with it. October 16th has been burned into our hearts and minds. We'll remember this date for the rest of our lives. Because this day is when we lost a friend and a true champion and role model.  What a great role model you were Dan. Your boys are growing up to be just like you. So caring and kind and so well mannered at such a young age. You've left a footprint in their hearts and they will carry you around forever. They have an entire racing family behind them, and I promise your boys will know you and how you were, because we will show them the best we know how. Continue to look down on us. While we all look up at you hoping we can live life you, if we all had an ounce of kin...

Matt Little pt.2

Not only is today my best friend's 25th birthday, but he also landed himself a job today in Wisconsin and I'm so freaking happy and proud of him. I told him yesterday that he was going to rock his interview and that they wouldn't know what hit them and they would have to hire him on the spot because he's just that damn good. Now I don't know if they hired him on the spot of not, but he had his interview at 12 and he already has the job. Pretty kick ass if you ask me! So happy for him, I even had a few tears of happiness run down my face! :)

Update

So on my 7 day detox I lost 6.8 pounds! Which is awesome!! I also lost an inch on my hips and half an inch on my waist! Monday I started a new workout program which is called Slim in 6 by Debbie Siebers. I'm on day 3 and so far I'm really enjoying it. The first day was a little difficult, not only because it was a new program but because it is so different from what I've done in the past. But I'm really enjoying it and will keep y'all updated on this as well. :)

7 day detox Update

Today is the last day of my detox so I will be posting the final update tomorrow! I do feel a lot better about myself I do know that! I'm not as bloated as  I was prior to the  detox, which is awesome!  I can't wait to see my final results tomorrow!!!

7 Day Detox

Sorry I have slacked off a little bit. But I'm on my last 2 days of the detox so it's back to cleansing/fasting! So far I'm loving this detox I've had no issues with it and it is definitely something I see myself doing again if I ever slip up on my eating healthy. I definitely don't recommend doing it all the time but once every 3-4 months I certainly think is okay! I'll post my weigh in and measurements on Sunday!! I think y'all will be surprised!! I know I am so far!!

7 Day detox...Update 3

Today was the third day on my detox. For breakfast I had my shakeology mixed with orange coconut water and almond milk. For lunch I had a salad with shredded chicken for dinner I will be having another shakeology! :) so far things are going well and I feel great!

People will always come in and out of your life

I've been doing a lot of thinking about people who have been in my life. There are some people who are gone for various reasons. Then there are those who have come into my life and stayed. There are a few people that were once in my life that no longer are. While they were in my life we had some awesome times, but I have to set back and think for a moment. Were those really awesome times? or Was I simply being fooled? I don't know, I can't answer that and probably never will be able to. I think it is an un-answerable question. Because, honestly it could go both ways, you can field answers on both sides. But instead of dwelling on the realm of possibilities, I'm going to assume for my sake that they were truly awesome times. Because yes, I did have fun with those people whatever it may have been. I wish those people good luck on their endeavors, whatever they maybe. I'm not going to set back and wish ill on these people, because what kind of a person would that make ...

7 day detox...update 2

It's my second day of the fasting/cleanse day. The rest of yesterday wasn't to bad. I really wasn't hungry and when I was I just ate a few strawberries. Today, though, is a different story! I've taken 2 out of the 4 fasting solutions today. My tummy is hungry! But I'm pushing through and not giving in. When I get really hungry I'll just eat some fruits and veggies to hold me over. Tomorrow I get to eat and I'm super excited!!! Yay for detox!!

7 day detox..Update 1

Measurements June 8th Weight: 255.4 lbs Hips: 53 in. Waist: 43.5 in Chest: 44 in I will record these again next Sunday. So far the fasting has been okay. The fasting solution I have to take tastes like absolute crap but I know it will be worth it in the end! Flushing out all of the bad toxins in my body! I fast again tomorrow then Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be eating days, Friday and Saturday will be the last 2 fasting/cleansing days. I'm so excited to share this journey with you all.

7 Day Detox

So I'm starting my 7 day detox program through Genesis Pure. Here is the link to the program menu. http://www.genesispure.com/ templates/genesis/public/pdf/ 7_day_detox.pdf However, I will be changing a few things around. Instead of using their shakes I will be using Shakeology that I already have. I'm very excited/nervous about this because I've never done any sort of a detox. That being said I think it will go very well, and I'm not doing this to just 'loose weight' I'm doing it to flush my body of all the toxins I've ingested in the last few months during my hiatus of healthy living. I will say though I did weigh myself because I was curious to see how much weight I had gained, to my surprise I only gained 3.5 pounds in 3 months, so that's pretty okay if you ask me. I know that's no excuse for my hiatus but I'm blessed that it was only 3.5 pounds, because it could have been a lot worse! So I'm looking forward to this detox and eating...

Weight Journey

I've struggled with weight my entire life. I was in jr. high and was a member of Weight Watchers, at 13 years old. Weight Watchers did work for me and my lowest weight I believe was 140. Which is my ultimate goal weight, as of now. But it got to expensive going to the meetings so we stopped. As we stopped we also stopped eating healthy like we were doing while on weight watchers. Slowly, the weight came back on and ultimately more weight. By the time I graduated high school I weight about 200 pounds. Then it was time for college, being a college student I definitely didn't eat the way I should, during my 4 years of college I put on another 60 pounds roughly, weighing a whopping 260 pounds. In the next 6 months I put on 20 more pounds. My highest recorded weight was 280 pounds and that was Thanksgiving 2012. Now, I know that isn't healthy whatsoever, and I know what I need to do. Its a simply and easy equation. Eat healthy and get off my ass. The beginning of the year is the...
