A year ago today


A year ago today the IndyCar community lost one of our own. Dan Wheldon was taken from this earth. Not a day goes by where he is not thought about.




This is one of my favorite pictures of Dan that I took. He has the biggest smile and this is how I will always remember him. It's so surreal that it has almost been a year. Dan will live on in our hearts forever. As the day is here please keep Susie, Oliver, and Sebastian in your thoughts and prayers. Along with his close friends, family, and anyone he touched. Because Dan touched a lot of people. He was the type of person who treated everyone like a friend even if you had just met him. He always took time out of his day to say hi or sign a quick autograph or take a picture. These are the things I will treasure. Dan was one hell of a guy and the racing world misses him immensely. Continue to look down on all of us and we will see you again one day. ♥


Christopher Wheeler says it best: "The day has come that all of us have feared to face. A day that will forever be etched into our hearts. As we continue to live our lives I ask us all to not step backward. Lets not spend this day in the pain we all felt 1 year ago, but let us all remember. Let us continue to take the memories we have of who we all agree was one of the best to walk this planet. Cherish the lessons he taught us. Continue to teach those things to those we weren't lucky enough to learn them on there own. I miss you Ace. I will see on you the other side superstar."


Dan we love you and we miss you and think of you all the time.
I miss that smiling face and his great personality. You were one of a kind Dan.

I sit here attempting to study for my finals and all I can think about is Dan Wheldon. It still seems like a big nightmare. Dan Wheldon can't be gone. It's not fair. I remember it like it was yesterday. I had to work the day of the Las Vegas race and I was pissed that I couldn't enjoy the last race with my family and friends. But I went to work anyway, because that is what a responsible adult does. I work at a kiosk so it is easy for me to check things on the internet. Well this particular day I was a little busy with customers so I didn't get to start the radio broadcast on time. I think I tuned in on lap 10, it was right before the horrid accident happened. After the accident happened I knew something was wrong, I felt it in the pit of my stomach. I called my family constantly, tweeted, and facebooked. At this point work was the last thing on my mind. Weight Journey

I've struggled with weight my entire life. I was in jr. high and was a member of Weight Watchers, at 13 years old. Weight Watchers did work for me and my lowest weight I believe was 140. Which is my ultimate goal weight, as of now. But it got to expensive going to the meetings so we stopped. As we stopped we also stopped eating healthy like we were doing while on weight watchers. Slowly, the weight came back on and ultimately more weight. By the time I graduated high school I weight about 200 pounds. Then it was time for college, being a college student I definitely didn't eat the way I should, during my 4 years of college I put on another 60 pounds roughly, weighing a whopping 260 pounds. In the next 6 months I put on 20 more pounds. My highest recorded weight was 280 pounds and that was Thanksgiving 2012. Now, I know that isn't healthy whatsoever, and I know what I need to do. 7 Day Detox

So I'm starting my 7 day detox program through Genesis Pure. Instead of using their shakes I will be using Shakeology that I already have. I'm very excited/nervous about this because I've never done any sort of a detox. That being said I think it will go very well, and I'm not doing this to just 'loose weight' I'm doing it to flush my body of all the toxins I've ingested in the last few months during my hiatus of healthy living. I will say though I did weigh myself because I was curious to see how much weight I had gained, to my surprise I only gained 3.5 pounds in 3 months, so that's pretty okay if you ask me. I know that's no excuse for my hiatus but I'm blessed that it was only 3.5 pounds, because it could have been a lot worse! So I'm looking forward to this detox and eating
